(Click on an image to go to a larger version) Cirencester Civil Engineering is hoping to reap the benefits from being involved in two of the gardening world's most high profile events. Fresh from success at the recent Chelsea Flower Show, the Elliott Road business is now gearing up for next month's Hampton Court Show. Marketing manager Sue Sugg explained: "CCE was invited to work with the landscape designer Christine Popplewell and the sculptor David Harber. We were involved with the building of the stand. “We installed the edging and then the built the pathways for the visitors to the stand. The decorative surface was Addaset 6mm Lucerne Silver. "You only get asked to work at Chelsea if you are the best at what you do and this was our second year working with Christine and David Harber, who are based in Oxfordshire." The work attracted the attention of visitors and judges and was awarded a certificate. "We are very proud to be associated with the Chelsea Flower Show and the award-winning landscape designer Christine Popplewell," Sue added. Now attention is turning to the Hampton Court Show from July 8-13 when the company has been signed up to work with a leading Spanish landscape designer. CCE, which has 30 members of staff, are specialists in general civil engineering and ground-works, with a separate surfacing division which carries out the flower show works. Some of the company's major successes have included working on the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain in Hyde Park, The Tate Modern and the London Eye as well as creating a network of cycle paths throughout Oxfordshire. But as well as major housing developments the company is also happy to tackle smaller contracts such as building driveways and paths throughout the UK. ENDS June 2008 |
